Gareth Bale has told Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy he is determined to leave for Real Madrid. The Mirror says Bale blanked training with the north Londoners on Tuesday and is understood to be insistent that he would not be turning up on Wednesday morning either.
Levy had demanded the winger's return to London in protest at Real having already built a stage inside their Bernabeu Stadium to present him on, and started selling Bale shirts before Tottenham had had a chance to bring in their required replacements.
It all meant Real were forced to postpone plans to unveil Bale on Tuesday and hopes faded as the day progressed that he would be presented before the end of the week.
