Gareth Bale is desperate to leave Tottenham according to non-executive director Sir Keith Mills.
As Spurs chairman Daniel Levy gets set to negotiate a transfer fee with Spanish giants Real Madrid in Miami, Mills suggested that the Welsh winger wanted out at White Hart Lane.
"If a player is desperate to leave, it's very difficult to force him to stay. We've seen it in other clubs," Mills said.
"Even if he has a contract, you can't force somebody to play for you."
Tottenham will speak to Madrid during the Spaniards' pre-season tour of the USA and want a world record transfer fee of around £105million for Bale.
