Gareth Bale recently signed a new six-year deal with Real Madrid but admits his difficult second season in La Liga made him stronger as a player.

Bale said he had had a "difficult journey" at the club, especially during his second season where he was booed by fans.

"I had one season where it wasn't the best but that made me grow up as a player and person," he said.

"It made me learn to deal with whatever is thrown at me."
