Baines hails Everton crowd influence for Chelsea win

Everton fullback Leighton Baines says the Goodison Park crowd had a big influence on victory over Chelsea.

The left back is calling on a similar spirit to be generated when Championship outfit Blackpool visit on Saturday, with a place in the FA Cup quarter-finals at stake.

"They [the fans] were magnificent again," he told evertontv. "That's what we need, especially in the big games where sometimes you get put under a bit of pressure.

"It's a massive game for us against Blackpool - for us and for the fans. We're all desperate for that cup run again after we reached the final in 2009. We know how much we all enjoyed that and we'll be needing them again."
