Everton fullback Leighton Baines is grateful to manager David Moyes for showing faith in him this season.
Baines, 24, confessed to The Sun: "Before Christmas, England was a million miles away from my thoughts.
"I was working hard but it was tough because I knew I wouldn't have a game at the end of the week.
"I spoke to the manager and told him how frustrated I was.
"He always said I'd be the left-back here for a long time but it became hard to believe at times.
"In December if you'd said I would get half a dozen games for the rest of the season I'd have been over the moon, so you can imagine now I'm absolutely delighted."
