Jose Mourinho will do everything in his power to make Eric Bailly one of the best central defenders in the game.
The 22-year-old Ivory Coast centre-back, who joined Manchester United from Villarreal earlier this summer, impressed in his first hit-out for his new club in Saturday's 2-0 friendly win over Wigan Athletic.
Following the match, Mourinho spoke of the performance of the youngster who he feels can take the next step just as Raphael Varane has done after working with the Portuguese at Real Madrid.
"I will give him everything to try to make him better and better like I did with other central defenders I've had in my hands," said Mourinho.
"Like for example Varane - and I will try to make him the best I can.
"He has shown the potential we saw when we decided to buy him. He has the potential to become one of the best around."
