Bailey: Current Man Utd squad can dominate for 10 years

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Gary Bailey says the current squad could dominate domestic and European football for the next ten years.

In a blog for manutd.com, Bailey wrote: "People in South Africa often ask me if the current team is the best United team I've ever seen. I think it is - every player is a superstar in their own right.

"If you go back to 1968, Sir Matt Busby's team had three or four huge names and then very solid players around them. I look at Vidic and Rio, I look at Ronaldo, the guys up front... there's literally a superstar in every position. Edwin and the defence have added incredible stability to an awesome midfield and attack. Liverpool fans in South Africa are just shaking their heads!

"Then you've got the youngsters like Jonny Evans, Rafael, Fabio. All brilliant, and that's what I admire about Sir Alex - he's already planning the next generation. It's not like he's throwing in kids with the attitude that if they mess up they'll learn; he knows they add real value. They come in with - and gain - a lot of confidence and get looked after by the old pros around them and can go on to be great players themselves. The way it's going United could dominate for another four, five, 10 years."
