Baggio excited about new FIGC coaching job

Roberto Baggio is excited about his coaching job with the Italy national setup.

The former Juventus and Inter Milan star has become the president of FIGC's technical sector.

Baggio told Gazzetta dello Sport: "Today another game begins and it will be tough. Things came to me a lot easier with the ball."

When asked to explain why he accepted the role, Baggio said: "Because I am curious. New things fascinate me. I like to understand and be part of the group.

"In my last years as a player, it was punishment to get to Sunday. When you stop playing, only the absence of pain makes you feel better.

"Taking a break allows you to breath again and appreciate your family, and the things that you have. But it's now time to start again with a new challenge.

"It's above all with the youngsters where I can give some precious advice. Like managing difficulties and the pressure of a big club. Like becoming a player and a real man. In the end this is what counts.

"There is talent in Italy. The important thing is to let it fly supported by intelligence. This often doesn't happen in Italy."
