Bad news for Charlton as Kermorgant has surgery on broken ankle

Championship club Charlton Athletic have confirmed that striker Yann Kermorgant has undergone surgery on a broken ankle.

The Frenchman sustained the injury in training last week and has now had an operation which will keep him out for around three months.

"Yann went under the knife on Wednesday night in the Cromwell Hospital in Chelsea. The ankle joint was stabilised and the operation was a success," Charlton physio Erol Umut told the club's official website.

"The surgeon and myself were happy, and Yann will now begin his recuperation."
