Babalj back at Melbourne Heart after Red Star Belgrade stint

Melbourne Heart have exercised their right to re-sign Eli Babalj from Red Star Belgrade.

The 20-year old striker departed the Heart to sign with the Serbian giants in June last year but after making just six senior appearances and scoring one goal, has returned to the A-League.

"The Club thanks Red Star for its cooperation in this matter," Heart CEO Scott Munn said.

"While it is unfortunate that Eli's foray into professional football in Serbia did not work out, we look forward to seeing him back in the Red and White of Melbourne Heart again."

Babalj, who has scored 11 goals in 35 appearances for the Heart, will be available for Saturday's clash with Western Sydney Wanderers subject to international clearance.
