Roberto Di Matteo spoke highly of new Chelsea signing Cesar Azpilicueta this afternoon.
The 22-year old Spanish right-back has joined the Blues from French club Marseille and his new manager is expecting him to provide plenty of competition for the likes of Branislav Ivanovic and Paul Ferreira.
"He is a young player from Marseille, who has come through all the ranks with the youth level of the Spanish team, and he will give us cover at the right-back position with Paulo Ferreira and Branislav Ivanovic," he told the club's official website.
"It gives us more options for the future and competition. We will see who is going to be playing."
Chelsea next meet Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge tomorrow evening following their 4-2 midweek win at home over Reading.
