Chelsea have confirmed that Cesar Azpilicueta has joined the club from Marseille.
The 22-year old Spanish right-back has been linked with the European champions for some time and a mooted £7million deal is now complete.
"Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Cesar Azpilicueta," read a statement on the club's official website.
"The 22-year-old right-back, who recently represented Spain at the London Olympics, arrives at Stamford Bridge following a two-year spell in France's Ligue 1 with Marseille. "
Azpilicueta made just under 70 appearances for Marseille and will now go into Roberto Di Matteo's squad for tomorrow evening's clash with Newcastle United.
