Azpilicueta confident Watford win will change Chelsea's season

Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilcueta believes that his side's 4-2 win over Watford on Saturday can help to re-energise their season.

Antonio Conte's side have struggled to recapture their form of last season and prior to the game, they had gone three matches without a victory.

"We were three games without winning so it's important to step up and get back to winning ways," Azpilicueta, who scored Chelsea's third goal, told the club's website.

"We know it's a long season and we will have ups and downs. This has been a difficult period but this is the first step to get out and get our confidence up."

The result leaves Chelsea in fourth place on the League standings with 16 points from nine games and nine points adrift of Manchester City who are at the top of the standings with 25 points.

Conte's men next play on Wednesday against Everton in a Carabao Cup encounter before lining up against Bournemouth in a Premier League game next weekend.
