AZ Alkmaar midfielder Adam Maher has cooled talk of a move to Arsenal.

AZ coach Gertjan Verbeek has admitted he'd recommend Maher make the move to Arsenal once he chooses to leave the Eredivisie club.

"In the summer, it is certain that I will leave my current club, I expect an important offer to arrive for AZ," said the midfielder, 19.

"Arsenal? In the past I have said that for the moment I do not want to leave the Netherlands, I am just 19 years old and the Eredivisie can help me grow. I could leave the country within two or three seasons. PSV or Ajax? Last summer I said I wanted PSV, but I do not mind if I finish at Ajax."
