AZ Alkmaar football chief Earnie Stewart says they're prepared to lose Simon Poulsen in January.

The Danish fullback is being linked with Aston Villa and admits he finds the Premier League outfit a "nice club".

Stewart, discussing Poulsen and Brett Holman, said: "They've done a great job and we would be happy to keep them longer.

"Unfortunately we cannot agree new contracts and do not have the resources to reach a deal.

"If they leave in the winter, we have a list of replacements."
