Dutch champions AZ Alkmaar have unveiled Dick Advocaat as their new manager until the end of the season.
The Belgium national team coach will undertake dual roles as he replaces Ronald Koeman who was sacked by the club after a poor start to their title defence.
Advocaat plans to get 7th-placed AZ back in form and up the Eredivisie table so they can qualify for European action next season.
"We need to get European football at AZ," the former Zenit St Petersburg boss said.
"If we do not achieve this, then I will have done something wrong."
