Aron Johannsson knows he will have to continue his improvement following his international debut with the USA.
The 22-year old Icelandic-American striker produced an impressive 30-minute cameo as the US beat Bosnia-Herzegovina 4-3 in Sarajevo in a friendly on Wednesday and although he was happy with his output, plans to bring more next time he steps out for his country.
"It was nice to get my first minutes for the national team," Johannsson told MLSsoccer.com.
"I was anxious the whole game and waiting, waiting for an opportunity to come in. I came in and I think I did OK. Maybe I should have scored one goal. But hopefully I'll do better next game and try to score goals."
As for upcoming World Cup qualifiers in September, Johannsson says his major concern is performing well at club level with AZ Alkmaar.
"I don't know. It's up to the coach," he added. "I just have to keep on playing well and keep playing well in my team in Holland and I sure want to be on that roster and I hope I will."
