Ayovi open to MLS offer but favours Monterrey stay

Monterrey veteran Water Ayovi says he is open to any forthcoming offer from MLS.

The 33-year old Ecuadorian comes out of contract with the three-in-a-row CONCACAF Champions League winners later this month and could be swayed by a potential shift to the USA or Canada.

"In May, my contract with [Monterrey] expires and I still don't know what my future holds," Ayovi told FutbolMLS.com's Tiro Libre podcast in April.

"…the truth is I would love [to play in MLS]. We'll see. It's a possibility that I've always had there, and hopefully that can happen."

However, Ayovi suggests he would also ponder remaining in Mexico with Monterrey as the embark on another FIFA Club World Cup campaign.

"Because of what I've achieved with this team, it would be something historic for me," he said of his plans to stay with the Liga MX club.
