Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao has become involved in finding a heart transplant for a fan.
The Mirror reports 17-year-old John Andres Uyaban had been on the waiting list for two years, when Falcao was made aware of the situation and appealed for help via his Facebook page.
Falcao posted: "Help us get a new heart for John Andres, a 17-year-old kid with all the desire to keep fighting."
Just ten days after the message was posted, Uyaban's mother confirmed that he had received a heart from another youngster who had unfortunately died in an accident.
She thanked 'God and Falcao' after the event, and revealed how the family reached out to the Colombian hotshot.
"I give thanks to God and Falcao - he's related to some cousins of mine who talked first to his father (Radamel Garcia) seeking his help in this effort," Uyaban's mother Sara Fernandez told Efe.
"They're going to perform another small surgery and we hope it's not complicated.
"I always had that hope that Falcao would help us because he's a public figure. Everyone listens to him and he's also very humble and really believes in God."
