Rickie Lambert's move from Southampton to Liverpool has meant plenty to his former clubs Bristol Rovers and Rochdale.
Relegated to the Conference, Rovers picked up around £500,000 from a sell-on clause when Lambert moved from Southampton to Liverpool for about £4.5million.
League OneRochdale also benefited to the tune of £100,000 following a similar agreement - and the striker donated his England shirt to help raise funds for assistant manager Chris Beech's young son Brendan, who suffers from Cystic Fibrosis.
Rochdale spokesman Stuart Ashworth said: "I am still in touch with him by text and he replies. He's that sort of man."
