Avoiding relegation is literally a rollercoaster for Blackpool boss Clark

Blackpool boss Lee Clark has promised he will overcome his fear of rollercoasters and ride the 'Big One' if they avoid relegation from the Championship. The Seasiders currently sit bottom and are ten points from safety.

When Blackpool's 'Big One' opened in May 1994 it was the tallest and steepest rollercoaster in the world, climbing to a height of 235ft (71m).

"I'm terrified, but I'm ready to do it, I hope I've got to do it," he said.

"I'll have to have a few glasses of beer before I get on it."

Clark took over at Bloomfield Road at the end of October and has picked up one point in his three games in charge so far.

"Whenever we've gone to the States with my kids I've had to be the one to do it, and I absolutely dread it," he continued to BBC Radio Lancashire.

"I drove past the one at the Pleasure Beach and I was like 'look at the size of that, I would be terrified', and we made this deal.

"I don't know why I agreed to it. We're just desperate to keep the club up."
