Andre Villas-Boas insists Chelsea have dropped their pursuit of Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric.
One of the summers most drawn out transfer sagas involved the Blues and the Croatian playmaker with Spurs managing to hold onto their prized possession despite big-money offers from Stamford Bridge.
And now AVB has indicated that the Blues are unlikely to continue with their interest, even in the winter transfer market.
"No I don't think so. The market is closed and I won't speculate what happens in January," he said.
