Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas is ready to compete for Everton fullback Leighton Baines.
United boss David Moyes is still keen to be reunited with his former Everton favourite and wants to make another bid for the England defender in the next transfer window, says the People.
But Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas is also monitoring the Baines saga and could be willing to enter the bidding now that chairman Daniel Levy has thrown off the financial shackles. Spurs signed seven players in the summer but still want a striker and a left-back.
Danny Rose is the first-choice left-sided defender at White Hart Lane and is rated highly by Villas-Boas.
But the Portuguese boss believes signing the experienced Baines, 28, as competition can only be of benefit to England under-21 star Rose.
