Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas is prepared to sell Jermain Defoe.

The Daily Mail says Villas-Boas will show his ruthless streak by putting Defoe and Scott Parker up for sale.

Various third parties have been instructed to generate interest in the pair. Spurs are said to be willing to use Defoe or Parker as makeweights in potential deals for new signings.

Spurs are also keen to sell Emmanuel Adebayor - although his £100,000-per-week wages will be a stumbling block - Tom Huddlestone and Benoit Assou-Ekotto.
