AVB confident Chelsea will reach agreement with Drogba, says Anelka is staying

Didier Drogba will soon sign a new deal with Chelsea whilst Nicolas Anelka does not want to leave.

They are the sentiments of new manager Andre Villas-Boas who has refuted claims that Frenchman Anelka wants out and Ivorian Drogba will either leave this summer or next when his contract expires.

Both players' current deals finish at the end of this season but Villas-Boas was confident the strike pairing would be at Stamford Bridge for the near foreseeable future.

"It's not true," he told reporters when asked about whether or not Anelka wants to leave Chelsea.

As for the Drogba situation, the Portuguese tactician said the 33-year old is one of the most important players at the club and would almost certainly sign a contract extension.

"We will (reach an agreement)," he added.

"He is one of the most important players and representative players of the club.

"And his willingness to continue is 100 per cent. It will be because of that that we will reach an agreement."
