Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas is blocking Younes Kaboul's move to Anzhi.
Anzhi were pushing to do business yesterday with Spurs over a £7.1 million deal for the Frenchman.
But Villas-Boas is desperate not to lose Kaboul, who he sees as a natural replacement for William Gallas from next season.
Gallas is expected to move on when his contract expires in June.
