​Australian women's football acquires free-to-air broadcaster

Australian broadcaster SBS has acquired the free-to-air rights to the 2017/18 W-League, the top tier of women's club soccer in Australia, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/.

The deal – which SBS struck with the Football Federation Australia (FFA) and its rights partner, pay-television broadcaster Fox Sports – will run from 27th October until its Grand Final in February 2018.

Digital channel SBS Viceland will broadcast up to two W-League games each week, plus the semi-finals and grand final live, free and in HD.

In addition to the domestic action, SBS and SBS Viceland will broadcast Australia's women's national teams, The Matildas, two friendly fixtures against China on 22nd and 26th November in Geelong and Melbourne respectively.
