The Australian leg of the Neymar Jr 5's tournament concluded on Saturday, with Ballers FC taking out the final.
The team from rural Victoria will now take their talents to Brazil to compete in the Neymar 5's World Final in the Barcelona star's hometown on July 7th.
After 25 regional and city qualifiers across the country, sixteen teams were left to fight it out in Melbourne. The format of the tournament final included a group stage and knockout rounds.
Ballers FC triumphed over Tiki Taka Tentaculata in the final to book their ticket to Brazil where they will compete with 52 other teams.
"We cannot wait to head over to Brazil and do our country proud. It is going to be an amazing experience and we'd like to thank Red Bull for the opportunity to compete in such an awesome tournament," said Ballers FC Sean Grant.
"We would like to also thank all of our supporters for their energy and encouragement throughout the whole day, they gave us the extra motivation we needed to overcome some incredibly tough opposition today."
Former Melbourne Victory and Socceroos star Archie Thompson was present at the final and found the format to be beneficial to amateur footballers.
"It is such a fast and furious format. It's really exciting to watch and such a great opportunity for each individual to showcase their skill against the best amateur players in the country," Thompson said.
"Not only that, but one lucky team will get the chance to head to Brazil and represent Australia at the World Finals, as well as getting the chance to meet Neymar Jr himself. It will be an unforgettable experience."
