Australian-born Williams signs new deal with Middlesbrough

Australian-born defender Rhys Williams has signed a new deal with Middlesbrough. The 20-year old will remain at the Riverside until June 2011 but has immediately gone on-loan to Championship club Burnley.

Born in Perth, Western Australia to an Indian mother and English father, Williams is eligible to play for Australia, India, England and Wales.

He chose the latter and has represented Wales at U21 level.
