Australia v Japan match sixth highest MCG attendance

Last month’s World Cup qualifier between Australia and Japan was the sixth highest attendance for a football match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

The initial attendance announcement was totalled at 69,238 but that number has been amended due to a combination of technical and human error.

The correct attendance figure for the event was actually 74,100, making it the sixth largest attendance for an international football match at the MCG.
