Australia U20 boss Jan Versleijen was delighted to win the ASEAN U19 championship in Thailand. Australia defeated South Korea in the final on penalties thanks to the heroics of Central Coast Mariners goalkeeper Andrew Redmayne.

"Every game we improved, the players had a better understanding of the combinations creating chances. It was pleasing to win the tournament.

"Now we have to prepare for the qualifiers and I can see improvement that will give us confidence leading into the qualifiers," said Versleijen.
