Australia now finds themselves ranked third in the Asian Football Confederation after the most recent FIFA rankings were released.
The Socceroos fell seven spots to 46th in the world and now sit behind Japan and South Korea in the AFC following their 2-2 draw with Oman last month.
Asia's number one ranked team, The Blue Samurai, dropped three positions to 29 in the world after they lost 2-1 to Jordan.
South Korea leapfrogged the Socceroos and up to 42nd spot thanks to their 2-1 win over Qatar in March.
Following the aforementioned trio are Iran (56th in the world), Uzbekistan (66), Jordan (76), UAE (89) and Iraq (96).
