Australia's Schwarzer named in Asian Cup shortlist

Australia goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer has been named in a four-man shortlist for the Asian Cup player of the tournament.

The 38-year old Fulham custodian has kept four clean sheets in the Socceroos' five matches thus far, making him the most successful keeper in the competition ahead of tonight's final against Japan.

Also making the shortlist for the 2011 Asian Cup's Most Valuable Player award are Japan forward Keisuke Honda, South Korea captain and recently-retired midfielder Park Ji-Sung and Uzbekistan star Server Djeparov.

The winner of the award will be announced by the Asian Football Confederation after Saturday night's (Sunday 2:00am AEDT) final between Australia and Japan at Khalifa International Stadium in Doha.
