FFA chief executive Buckley would be happy to discuss the idea with his English Premier League counterpart Richard Scudamore but the governing body are not currently aware of the proposal and prefer to focus on their own domestic competitions.
"FFA's overwhelming priority is to promote the Hyundai A-League and to continue to invest in, and grow, the game in Australia," Buckley said.
With so many Australians playing in the Premier League and lower leagues in England, and the interest in the world game at an all-time high in Australia, any match or matches played Down Under involving Premier League teams would almost certainly be sell-outs.
Nearly 51,000 fans attended the Socceroos' opening 2010 World Cup qualifier against Qatar at Melbourne's Telstra Dome earlier this week, while more than 80,000 were on hand in November 2005 when Australia beat Uruguay on penalties to qualify for Germany 2006.
