Tim Cahill has ruled himself out of Australia's friendly against World Cup hosts Brazil on Saturday because of an injury whilst playing for the New York Red Bulls in Saturday's Major League Soccer clash with DC United. The 33 year old had scans on his injury after the match and it appears the results were unfavourable.

"Unfortunately I won't be fit to join @Socceroos in Brazil this week due to injury," Cahill wrote later on Twitter.
