Australia will take on Jordan in a 2014 World Cup qualifier at the Docklands in Melbourne it has been confirmed.
Football Federation Australia (FFA) and the Victorian Government announced today that the Socceroos will host the Jordanians in Melbourne on Tuesday June 11, 2013.
FFA chief David Gallop believes the Melbourne sporting fans will get right behind Holger Osieck's Socceroos as they look to bounce back from the shock loss to Jordan in Amman in September.
"The Victorian sporting public have always provided huge support for the Qantas Socceroos and I'm looking forward to a great atmosphere at this world-class venue," said Gallop.
"With tickets going on sale so early, it's also a great opportunity for interstate football fans to plan ahead and get to Melbourne to support our team as well.
"Everyone knows our FIFA World Cup qualifying group is extremely competitive and this important home game is absolutely crucial on the road to Brazil."
