Australia determined to put things right after Oman loss - Neill

Australia captain Lucas Neill says the players are desperate to get things back on track following Friday's 1-0 loss to Oman in Muscat.

The Socceroos blemished their unbeaten record in 2014 World Cup qualifying with the away loss and although they did not relinquish top spot in Group D, Neill says Tuesday's clash with Thailand is vitally important, especially after fighting back from a goal down to win 2-1 the last time they met the Thais in September.

"(The feeling) was hurt after the (Oman) game and disappointment but now it's definitely more about a determination and a wanting to give a positive reaction," Neill said.

"We've addressed a number of things since the game against Oman and now it's about putting the talking into action.

"We also have to put in a good performance because of the way we played against Thailand the last time, so we have no excuses, no surprises on how they are going to play.

"We must win the game to get the job done," Neill added regarding the point required to gain qualification to the next stage.

"... If you go into a game trying to draw then you are going in for the wrong reasons."
