The Australian national team has slipped further down the FIFA rankings following their recent 3-2 friendly loss to Romania.
The Socceroos, who have been as high as number 14 in the world in 2009, now find themselves sitting 37th on the overall rankings.
Holger Osieck's side were at 36 last month but have dropped one spot to sit directly below the likes of Serbia, Paraguay, Algeria, Hungary and the USA.
The shift has done nothing to Australia's Asian Football Confederation standings as they remain second behind Japan who fell seven points to 28 in the world despite beating Latvia 3-0. South Korea, Uzbekistan, Iran and Iraq make up the top six in Asia.
Elsewhere in the world, Spain remains on top of the rankings ahead of Germany, Argentina, England, Italy, Colombia and Portugal (equal sixth), Holland, Croatia and Russia.
