The Socceroos breathed a sigh of relief as Harry Kewell managed to get through his first full training session with the squad on Thursday.
The Galatasaray star has been struggling with a groin injury all year and has been training away from the group in a bid to improve his fitness but with the World Cup just a week away, the coaching staff have ramped up his duties after a fortnight of lighter work.
Kewell got through unscathed but is expected to play no part in Saturday’s warm-up clash with the USA in Roodepoort as head coach Pim Verbeek earmarks him for a substitute role in the opening match against Germany on June 13.
“Harry up until he got injured was on fire," said Jedinak.
"He was easily the in-form player in Turkey, scoring goals in all competitions, and it was a real pleasure to watch him play.
"The whole of Turkey was talking about him which was great."
