Australia boss Osieck looking on to next qualifier

Holger Osieck is already counting down the days until Australia's next 2014 World Cup qualifier.

The Socceroos boss has overseen his side win both of their opening matches in Group D of Asian qualifying and is now eyeing Oman on October 10.

Australia overcame a tardy beginning to eventually defeat Thailand 2-1 in Brisbane on Friday before improving markedly to beat Saudi Arabia 3-1 in Dammam on Tuesday (Wednesday morning AEST) and Osieck wants to keep the run going.

"I'm in the rhythm," he told Fox Sports following Josh Kennedy's double and Luke Wilkshire's penalty.

"So far we have 100 percent of what we could have got - six points in two games, that's the maximum and now we have to carry on.

"We can't become complacent. The next home game is against Oman, they shouldn't be under-rated. For sure, it is a must-win, and then I think we have made a major step forward."

He added: "I am very happy with our performance today. The boys did extremely well.

"You have to consider not only the performance tonight but the way to get here was very dfificult and logistically quite an ordeal but it all worked well and the boys really showed a great attitude.

"I have confidence in the boys. I know they have great character and they showed it today."
