Australian national team manager Holger Osieck insists David Carney be running out of time in regards to his international career.
The 29-year old former Sheffield United, Norwich City, FC Twente and Blackpool wingback has not played for a club since departing Uzbekistani giants Bunyodkor in September last year and Osieck has sent a warning that he will need to find regular football soon if he is to again represent the Socceroos.
"That is a very difficult one because I haven't got any information recently - he's just trying to find himself a club," Osieck said when asked about Carney.
"He's definitely running out of time in Europe because the transfer window closes I think tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.
"I don't know what other options he may have on his plate. I don't know what his agent has ready for him.
"It's just very unfortunate that he has nearly lost six - seven - months playing which is never very productive."
