The Westfield U16 Women have finished top of their group in the qualification phase for the 2009 Asian Football Confederations U16 Women's Championship. The Aussie U16s defeated Thailand 2-0 in their biggest challenge so far in the tournament and have now won four matches in a row.

The girls had some massive results throughout the tournament including a 20-0 result over Philippines and a 17-0 thumping of Singapore.

They scored 43 goals in four outings and conceded nil with Caitlin Foord leading the way with nine goals.

Coach Gary Phillips was delighted with the performance provided by his team.

"It was great to see the team finish top of their group," Phillips said.

"This tournament has provided the players with good experience playing in Asia.

"It has been an opportunity for us to develop our playing structure and style and we look forward to next year's Championships."
