Aussie defender Reece Caira happy to finally kickstart Aston Villa career

Aussie defender Reece Caira is thrilled to be part of Aston Villa's FA Youth Cup team.

Caira is finally settling in at Villa after being blocked by Australian authorities from joining the Premier League giants last year.

Since the off-field problem was resolved, Caira has made a number of league appearances for Tony McAndrew's team as well as playing in the cup victories at Bristol Rovers and Leeds United.

Although the full-back-cum-midfielder enjoyed seeing his team-mates flourish in the prestigious competition last season, there were times when he was frustrated at not being able to play his part.

"I missed out last season because of international clearance and not being able to play," Caira told AVTV.

"Watching every week and seeing how the boys were getting on in the cup was brilliant to see. Now I get to play this season, it is really good. It is good to play, I love it.

"It would mean everything to go all the way. Watching the final last year was frustrating.

"I just wanted to get out there and help the team. It would be great to do that this year."
