Aussie left-back Ersan Gulum is making big waves in Turkey at Besiktas.

The 23 year-old Melbournian moved to Bernd Schuster's Besiktas in the summer from Adanaspor and has quickly established himself as a first-choice.

Gulum joined Besiktas, along with Real Madrid legend Guti, despite being courted heavily by Galatasaray.

The left-sided defender is also regarded highly in Turkey as an accomplished centre-half and has spent the past four years playing in the country's top flight.
