Augusto Fernandez says he's joined Atletico Madrid to win the Liga.

Augusto left Celta Vigo for Atletico this week.

“What I saw out on the pitch the other day [against Levante]. It's a club with a great history and a great future – one of the most prestigious sides in the world, why is why being here is a very gratifying feeling for me," said the winger.

"Whilst watching the game the other night, I experienced firsthand the feeling which everyone has at this club. I'm not a robot and I know that, like anybody, there will be good days and bad ones, but effort is non-negotiable, that is how I have always approached my game. I will try to satisfy everyone with my contribution to the team."

Asked about his expectations for Atletico this season, he added: “To first place. Look at the league table and that's where the team is."
