Augsburg is reviving a move for Sunderland striker Ji Dong-won.

The Evening Chronicle says the South Korea international was a target for Borussia Dortmund in the summer, yet ex-Sunderland boss Paolo Di Canio turned down a £5m offer for a player who has not made the grade in England and who can leave for minimal compensation when his contract expires at the end of this season.

If Augsburg follow up their interest in Ji this month, Sunderland would be willing to do business if for no other reason than to get the 22-year-old off the wage bill.
