Chelsea winger Christian Atsu is set to return to Stamford Bridge from his loan deal at AFC Bournemouth, reports the Daily Mail.

The 23-year-old failed to make a league appearance for the Cherries and started just two League Cup fixtures before suffering an injury in September.

The report claims that the London club are in talks to cut short his loan spell with the Cherries.

This will be the second unsuccessful loan spell for the Ghanaian international in the Premier League after he failed to impress with Everton last season.
