Atletico Madrid are exploring the possibility of signing Julio Baptista from city rivals Real Madrid.

The Brazil international is aware of Atletico's interest and open to the switch as he is settled in Madrid and regards Real's rivals as a major club.

Baptista is on the outer of Real coach Bernd Schuster's first team plans and Atletico chief Miguel Angel Gil Marin is already in contact with Real representatives to discuss a price for the attacking midfielder, says Marca.
