Atletico Madrid striker Jose Antonio Reyes has denied insulting coach Javier Aguirre after he was taken off in Sunday's defeat at Barcelona.

"It's not true that I insulted coach Aguirre," said Reyes. "On Sunday against Barcelona I was angry with the substitution because we were losing and I was being stopped from changing things around.

"It was absolutely not my intention to show a lack of respect to the coach."
