Atletico Madrid have taken aim at Theo Hernandez ahead of his Real Madrid move.

Atletico say the 19-year-old refused numerous renewal propositions from the club, as well as offer from several European clubs.

"Theo Hernandez trained under Diego Pablo Simeone's orders in the 2016/17 pre-season, playing two friendly games against Numancia and Melbourne Victory, although he never made his debut with the first team in an official fixture," read the statement, uploaded on the club's website.

"The player, who was under contract until 2021, has rejected several times the renewal offers of Atletico Madrid and the offers of different European clubs to hire his services, as well as stating repeatedly his firm desire to play for Real Madrid."
